The Orlando Magic got a solid effort as their starters played into the fourth quarter and closed out a 110-107 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Orlando Magic did a lot of things really well, including finishing the game against many of the New Orleans Pelicans’ starters. It was a positive step for the Magic even if the execution was not perfect.
Nikola Vucevic led the way down the stretch as the Magic turned to him going one on one with Anthony Davis. It largely worked as Vucevic dominated in the low post and was able to score around the New Orleans superstar. A nice boost from the bench further bolstered Orlando as the team pulled out the win.
The concern remained inconsistency however. The Magic played three pretty good quarters, in Scott Skiles‘ estimation but one really bad one in the second quarter, when the Pelicans outscored them 37-19. It was an ugly affair full of fouls and sloppy offensive execution.
Orlando recovered from those struggles to get back into the game and eventually take the win. That moment of inconsistency though is something the team still hopes to clean up.
Overall though, it was a good performance Wednesday for the Magic.
