Tobias Harris’ position

Tobias Harris has panned out much better than many expected since he was traded to Orlando and still has the potential to be a star for the Magic.

The improvements Harris can make are very general in his quest to become a star.

To begin with, he has been asked to play power forward at times in Orlando, a position he has struggled to defend. He possesses the physical attributes necessary to defend the position, it is just a matter of footwork and knowing how to use his size, strength and weight.

Harris does not need to be a lock-down defender of bigs. But if he is able to defend the 4-spot more consistently he can become the versatile player who stars are expected to be.

Harris’ scoring and rebounding have improved at a steady pace, as has his 3-point shooting. If he is to become a star though, Harris’ defense will be what separates him from the pack.
