Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics have been a little bit of an obsession among Magic fans for the last year.

Boston went 40-42 and made the Playoffs last year with a rag-tag group of some cast offs, young guys, hoarded draft picks and brilliant coaching.

The Celtics were one of the surprise teams of the league and were way ahead of schedule in their rebuild. In fact, they were three different teams at some point in the season after spurning Jeff Green and Rajon Rondo at different points of the season and then bringing in Isaiah Thomas. The 2015 season was really a testament to the work Brad Stevens did.

This team still lacks a superstar though. And Magic fans kind of wondered whether they had more talent and why they were not achieving what the Celtics were achieving.

Jealousy breeds contempt.

So too does competitiveness. The Magic and Celtics split their season series last year including a come-from-behind win at the Amway Center in March. These are competitive teams. If the Magic are to make a push for the Playoffs in 2016, the Celtics are the team they have to likely surpass.

Magic fans have already targeted the Celtics and surely Celtics fans remember which team closed the beloved Boston Garden. Plus 2009 and 2010. There is history and there is certainly plenty of juice remaining in these matchups.
