Versatile options at shooting guard

Outside of the obvious upgrade at the point, there is a French 2-guard lurking in the rotation who is capable of doing a lot more than just spotting up for triples. Evan Fournier played his best basketball when he put the ball on the court and got to the basket while setting up his 3-point game.

At times, he functioned in a point-forward type of role, which is something we may see delegated to both he and Mario Hezonja in the second unit this year.

Hezonja certainly brings the ball handling abilities to take on a playmaking role within the offense, and during summer league he exhibited an uncanny ability for pushing the ball in transition and making quick decisions.

This was with teammates he had never practiced with before. That kind of adaptability shows major basketball skill.

The Magic will have the option of putting both the playmakers Hezonja and Fournier on the court at the same time in the second unit, and with both able to be triple-threat offensive types, the second unit could be a formidable force this season.
