Tobias Harris, and the top 10 finishes of the last 10 years
The Orlando Magic had expectations on them during the 2011 season. Those expectations eventually crushed them — forcing some fateful mid-season moves.
Before that though, the Magic were still riding pretty high. They were 15-4 on a road trip in Detroit when a mysterious illness gutted the team and things started to fall apart. It was not pretty.
Those first 20 games though were pretty good — if not a bit off — and the Magic continued to win. Including two game-winning baskets from Jameer Nelson on consecutive Saturdays.
The first was above in New Jersey as the Magic won 91-90 on that Jameer Nelson floater.
Nelson has had his share of game winners in a Magic uniform. His shots do litter this list just a little bit.
This clip, along with his game winner in Indiana the following week (an equally tough floater), were just peak Jameer Nelson. He had a knack for coming up in the big moments.
These were minuscule early regular season games. In a season that quickly fell apart at that. These wins seemed to hold the sinking ship together and keep the contending dream alive a little longer.
