Hedo Turkoglu has had many big moments and big shots in his time with the Magic. We will get to at least one more of those in just a moment.

His first though was truly a gem.

In one of the Magic’s “Welcome to the big stage” moments as a growing team about to become contenders for the first time. Maybe no one believed in the Magic and where they were building after this moment. But national television against the future champions does not hurt.

Hedo Turkoglu just had that confidence about him in these moments. He was always the kind of player who could miss 15 shots and everyone in the building knew he would make the one that mattered as the clock wound down.

That was . . . Hedo.

It was his biggest strength and his greatest flaw all wrapped up into one. The players that have that kind of confidence are usually the superstars. Hedo Turkoglu was just . . .
