Tobias Harris, and the top 10 finishes of the last 10 years
Before Tobias Harris made the game-winning dunk a thing, Dwight Howard did it first.
This was perhaps the Magic’s biggest “aha” moment as a young team preparing to make its first Playoffs. How often could a team like this beat the vaunted San Antonio Spurs?
If you missed the game (I was in Chicago and went to a friend’s play during my freshman year of college), just seeing the final score was enough to get you excited. Getting home to see the highlights was something else entirely. Games just do not get decided by a perfect inbounds pass like this with so little time left.
Howard was slowly starting to get his stardom out into the national sphere, and this play certainly propelled him a little higher.
In addition to the game-winner, Howard scored 30 points in the game and got to stop talking about the dunks he would do at the Slam Dunk Contest in Las Vegas a few weeks later.
This dunk just topped them all.
