He had total control of the pick-and-roll game, and you noticed how poor the offense was in the short time when Appling was not in the game.</p> <p>In Summer League, he showed some decent improvement on the defensive end by showing a nice understanding of the passing lanes and better placement of his body between his man and the basket (which is what kept him out of the NBA for most of the year).</p> <p><strong><a href=.
