Al-Farouq Aminu, Dallas Mavericks

Here is another player who fits the defensive mold of players the Magic have drafted in the past under Rob Hennigan.

Aminu has made his time in the NBA on the defensive end as his offense has taken some time to catch up. How many players like that do the Magic already have?

Aminu was probably nearly out of the league before he resurrected his career with the Mavericks this past year. He came off the bench for the Playoff-bound Mavericks while on a minimum salary and earned every minute and a trusted role on the team.

With Dallas again thinking about using some of their cap room for a major free agent yet again, Aminu could easily fall through the cracks and get signed by another team looking for a bargain spot starter.

Aminu remains a sub-30 percent 3-point shooter. Any offense you can get from him is a bonus, and he will not particularly spread the floor. Aminu is a glue guy for a team that already has shooters. That is decidedly not the Magic.
