2015 NBA Draft: 5 international bigs for Magic’s No. 51 overall pick
3) Satnam Singh (IMG Academy) C
Satnam Singh is a very interesting prospect from India. At first glance, he seems even surreal, as though his length does not really have an end.
He shoots the ball fluidly and uses his extreme length to follow just about every deer-like trot into a hard finish.
But then a closer look at the 7-foot-2, 290-pound 19 year old reveals a face with the hallmarks of gigantism and a gigantic frame that likely would have trouble enduring the physical play of the NBA.
Singh is maybe the longest shot, even given how impressive he is to watch on film.
There have been giants to succeed in the past — but he is likely not going to be able to cover any power forwards.
It is just hard to ignore how gifted he appears when he does agility drills and shoots jumpers.
Of course, this even applied to Daniel Orton and David Vaughn on some levels, so the pitfalls of allowing individual workouts to dictate a pick are not necessarily worth repeating again. He will most certainly require time in the D-League, but it would not be surprising to see some team take him in the second round.
