5) Andzeja Pasecniks (VEF Riga) C
Andezja Pasecniks is a 7-foot-1 center from Latvia who is ranked the No. 16 center in the 2015 class. He played in Eurocup last year and averaged 11 minutes per game, while not making a major impact nor playing well.
At this point, it takes a slightly trained eye to see the skill in Pasceniks, but he has a lot of nice facets to his game for a 19 year old.
He is long and has a good set of hands, in addition to moving his feet well offensively and filling passing lanes on the break. He has a good second jump and can tip it in well.
What limits his immediate impact is the fact he is rail-thin and cannot keep position down low. NBA centers will abuse him at this point.
The Magic would likely be drafting Pasecniks to culture overseas for a few years, as he still lacks offensive skill and is not even that well-conditioned despite appearing otherwise in stretches.
He is a long-shot pick, but that is why he is the lowest rated prospect in the first stretch of this two-part slideshow.
He still looks very much like a boy, and boys do not play in the toughest league on the planet — not yet, young blood. This is the definition of “draft and stash.”
