Best Game of 2015

Nov. 12 @ Knicks
8 pts., 5 assts., 4 rebs., 3/5 FGs

Luke Ridnour did not have a ton of individual highlights this year. He recorded just three games with 10 or more points, they came in three losses — some disappointing ones too like the loss to the Lakers.

Ridnour is not someone stats really matter. It is more about stability. And if he is given the opportunity to score, that likely means the team is in a bit of a bad spot relying on him.

The Knicks game was a good one for the Magic. It was early in the season before the Knicks became a complete disaster and this early season victory seemed to be a sign of something very positive for the young Magic. This was a quality win, especially after a disappointing loss the night before against the Raptors.

Ridnour was solid, as he tends to be in his games, but more solid than usual in scoring eight points and dishing out five assists. He was +6 in this game, just one of the 14 times he had a positive +/- the entire season. Only five of those 14 times happened in wins.

So, yes, this kind of solid individual and team performance was rare for Ridnour in this season.

The mediocre stat line should show just how hard it was to quantify and qualify Ridnour’s season.
