Orlando Magic Player Evaluations: Evan Fournier
By Zach Palmer
Final Grade
Let’s start with the “More Champagne!” slogan. I love it, I feel classy when saying it, and it gives Orlando a little bit of that international flavor that has been missing from the team since the “Polish Hammer” Marcin Gortat left O-Town.
On the court, Fournier provided Orlando with extremely valuable shooting and spacing. Fournier proved he could be a solid secondary ball-handler and is a fit for just about any offense with his versatile skills set.
With all that in mind, Fournier’s grade is dinged a bit thanks to his lack of consistency and durability.
While the Magic may have been
tanking
cautious with Evan Fournier’s hip late in the season it still hurt Orlando dearly. Without Fournier Orlando did not have a guard who was a real threat from the perimeter.
In the end however, it’s hard to disagree with the assessment that Fournier’s overall impact in his first season with Orlando was a positive one.

While Evan Fournier clearly peaked at the beginning of the season, you cannot discount all he did for the Magic this year.
