Aaron Gordon’s position has certainly not been cleared up yet. I would not expect it to be cleared up much this year either.

According to Basketball-Reference.com, Gordon spent 66 percent of his minutes at power forward with the other 33 percent showing up at small forward. So it seems like he is leaning toward being a power forward, which makes a lot of sense that is where most people projected him.

There is still a chance for Gordon to develop into a small forward. His future is still largely unwritten.

A lot of it is going to be determined by the new coach. That is a big part of the Magic’s future. It seems like a cop out to say so many times over and over again that the future is unwritten until the coach gets put in place, but. . .

The future of this organization is largely unwritten until a new coach gets put in place.

That goes double for a young player like Gordon. Whoever is in charge is going to get the chance to mold him in a very substantial way. That includes helping fit him into a position within his offense.

But, as Rob Hennigan likes to say, Aaron Gordon is just a forward. He does not have a position and none is envisioned for him right now. They just want him to play.
