The Orlando Magic have not had a stockpile of talent at the wings in franchise history. And of the talents that make up the top-10, several are role players, niche talents, and guys who really only thrived during their time in blue and white.
The best player at the 3-spot in Magic history is still in the NBA, but he is not with Orlando anymore. In fact, two other talents are also in the postseason still as former Magic players.
It illustrates that the Magic have been able to fill the small forward spot with a lot of useful role players, even if top-end talent has been nearly nonexistent.
Tobias Harris has oscillated between the forward positions, but for the purpose of this slide show he is a small forward (Tracy McGrady is a shooting guard). His career path seems to indicate he will eventually spend the majority of his NBA career as a small forward.
Harris’ offensive talents are not in question, but his defensive liabilities limit his potential to a large degree. Even taking that into account, he still does pretty well in the all-time small forward rankings.
