The NBA trade deadline last week was a busy one with lots of moving and shaking. What does each deal mean for the Magic?

The Orlando Magic decided to stay pat at last week’s trade deadline. The thoughts of trading restricted free agents-to-be Tobias Harris and Kyle O’Quinn along with young players Maurice Harkless and Andrew Nicholson or the team’s bevvy of expiring veterans (or quasi-expiring veterans) were not enough to get a rise out of anybody.

Orlando opted to stand pat.

In all likelihood the Magic could not find a deal that they liked and passed on anything that came their way. The reports were the Magic were searching for new homes for Andrew Nicholson and Maurice Harkless. But, again, apparently could not get the return they wanted.

Orlando decided whatever they were being offered was not enough. There remains hope that a change in coach can help resuscitate their careers. And that hope might have helped them retain their value beyond this season.

And, of course, they could receive playing time and bump up their value themselves.

Nothing operates in a vacuum however. The trade deadline and each move had an effect on the Magic and their future plans. So what exactly does it mean now that Brandon Knight is in Phoenix or JaVale McGee is in Philadelphia?

Each trade has something to do with the Magic.
