The All-Star Break is here and the Orlando Magic could really use it. Just to get away from everything. And get away from some awful Power Rankings at that.

The All-Star Break is quickly approaching. Most teams will be done after Wednesday’s game.

This is the point, or so the skeptics say, the NBA season really gets going. The trade deadline is a week away and teams are gearing up for a run to the Playoffs or a run to the Kwik-E-Mart for some scratch offs and Lottery luck.

The Magic are in that latter group. They fired Jacque Vaughn last week in a very expected and, possibly, overdue move. They came out and played harder after the coaching change and recorded a much-needed win over the Lakers to snap that 10-game losing streak.

That provided a brief sign of hope. Then the end to the Bulls game happened. It was the more things change, the more they stay the same.

The Magic are just hoping to show some improvement, gain some momentum for the offseason and give fans a reason to believe.

For the power rankings around the league right now, that hope and reason to believe is running very short.

Let’s see where the Magic rank.
