It is important to consider Towns is likely to play the 5-spot and is not lithe enough to transition to being a viable power forward. This means he would have to co-exist with Nikola Vucevic should the Magic take him. However, he is likely to go in the 5-to-8 range, anyway.

Towns has taken a lot of thunder from this young Kentucky squad so far. He is averaging 8.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per games in 13 games this season. Per 40 minutes, he is averaging a cool double-double of 16.9 points and 13.9 rebounds.

He has become a really athletic defender and an anchor of this terrorizing and talented Kentucky team.

Of all the players we are looking at, Towns appears to be the most certain to climb in the Draft. DraftExpress has him going third in their Mock Draft.

And who could blame him? Even for a freshman he seems really to enjoy doing the dirty work. That is a good sign for a young player. The offensive fluidity and everything else will come.

Next: Trey Lyles, Kentucky
