Hard to dislike how Elfrid Payton is playing lately. Those stats in his last five games really say everything.

So how about a few more numbers?

His favorite target on offense? Nikola Vucevic. According to NBA.com, Payton dishes 17.7 percent of his passes to the big man. Vucevic shoots 50 percent on shots he takes off Payton’s passes. Pretty nice tandem for a pick and roll.

But what is really impressive about Payton is how balanced and equal his passing is. Tobias Harris receives 16.8 percent of his passes. Channing Frye 14.6 percent (and 43.9 percent shooting from beyond the arc). Evan Fournier gets 14.4 percent.

The obvious guy missing is Victor Oladipo. He gets only 7.6 percent of Payton’s passes.
