What goes in the Orlando Magic time capsule?

Darrell Armstrong’s cup of coffee

The story goes before each game, Magic sparkplug Darrell Armstrong would drink two cups of coffee. Sometimes you would see him carrying the cup out to the floor as he warmed up. That was supposedly the secret to his never-ending energy. At halftime he would drink another cup and add some Hershey’s Kisses to boot.

For nine seasons, Armstrong played with enough energy that it forced his coaches to put him on the floor. He quickly became a fan favorite and epitomized the Heart & Hustle team that is still the most-remembered and appreciated team in Magic history.

Armstrong and Bo Outlaw quickly teamed up and created a fun, energetic duo that just made everyone want to cheer for this team. Even if they were not the most talented in the world.

Most people would not know who Armstrong is. When non-Magic fans hear Magic fans wax poetically about Armstrong, they seem a bit surprised. But to Magic fans, Armstrong represents everything that can be good about a team and a player.
