Many Magic fans are already pretty familiar with Seth Curry, thanks to his stint this summer with the Magic’s Summer League team, where he excelled when he was on the floor. Coming out of a Duke, the biggest knock on Curry was his size. Standing at just 6’2″, Curry was undersized to play his more comfortable off-ball position. However, thanks to a lot of hard work with the Santa Cruz Warriors last season, Curry has become a much more refined ball handler and is more confident running an offense.

When he was on the court for the Magic this summer, Curry played a mix of on the ball and off the ball. He showed poise running the offense and made several nice passes throughout the week. He also showed off his smooth shooting stroke while playing off the ball, primarily being used as a spot up shooter or catching-and-shooting coming off of screens. His ability to play both guard positions would give the BayHawks some nice balance and shooting that they would undoubtedly need.

It’s been rumored that a couple of overseas teams are interested in acquiring his services, so the ball is in Curry’s court, so to speak. He has to decide if he thinks that playing overseas is what would be best for his continued drive to play in the NBA, or if continuing in the NBA Developmental League would be his best option. If he chooses to stay in the states and the Magic were to acquire him, he could provide a nice shooting touch and ball handling ability off the bench down the line.
