With just a little more than a month to go before the start of training camp, the Orlando Magic still have some roster moves to make. With 16 players currently on the roster, the team will most likely be looking to bring in a few more players for training camp. While it’s unlikely they’ll add anyone they bring in for the season — 14 of the 16 players on the roster have fully guaranteed deals — they could use a couple of those players to fill out their NBA Developmental League affiliate Erie BayHawks’ roster. One thing that I really get into is looking at and scouting young, emerging talent.

Watching players who might not be household names yet really gets me excited and I feel like I have a good ability to point out when someone might “have it.” Growing up, I was an aspiring professional Billiards player, and while things did not work out in the end, I feel like I have a solid understanding of the razor sharp fine-line that there is between being really good, and being a professional.

As fans, I think we sometimes take for granted just how slim of a margin there really is between the two. Thanks to the humbling wisdom I have from my past, I savor scouting and learning about players who are just on the brink of potentially making it big time. This piece is a look at a group of players who have either failed to latch on with a team, or went un-drafted that could be worth the Magic and the Erie BayHawks time as they look to fill out the roster for the BayHawks.
