February 14-16, 2020: NBA All-Star Weekend, Chicago

Aaron Gordon walked out of the Dunk Contest the runner-up and at least the co-People’s Champion. He tried again in 2017 and could not execute his dunks, to his frustration. He entered again in 2018 but had to back out due to injury.

Everyone recognized Gordon was one of the best dunkers in the league. But he did not have the hardware to prove it.

The 2020 Dunk Contest was supposed to be his moment. And he put on a performance that will again go down in Dunk Contest history. But then he lost again. Under a fair amount of controversy.

Gordon was once again the People’s Champion.
