Orlando’s next game will be Monday, October 19 against the Chicago Bulls and it will be shown live on NBA TV. Finally, a Magic game on TV!
Josh Robbins takes a look at why none of Orlando’s preseason games have been televised.
Brian Schmitz discussed last night’s win in Wichita and talked about how excited the fans in college basketball country were to see some pro basketball.
"Howard played as fans trained their cameras at him and clicked away.“Hey, Superman! Over here!” said two young teens wearing blue Howard No. 12 jerseys.Magic Coach Stan Van Gundy wasn’t going to disappoint them. He said he was “aware” that he needed to play his stars for a non-NBA crowd.“I didn’t want to come in here and sit Jameer [Nelson], Vince [Carter] and Dwight, especially Dwight,” said Van Gundy, who recalled that the Miami Heat had played in college football hotbeds of Birmingham, Ala., and Albany, Ga.“To come to a place like this and not play them is not a good idea.”"

Magic Guard Mickael Pietrus is not 100%.
"Magic forward Mickael Pietrus opted not to have offseason surgery on his sore right wrist.He didn’t like the length of the rehabilitation.“I would have cost me training camp,” Pietrus told the Orlando Sentinel. “I really didn’t want to do that.”Pietrus said his wrist “isn’t 100 percent,” but thinks it’s getting better. He missed 12 games last season with the injury."
I’m not sure that Pietrus shouldn’t have risked missing training camp to fix his wrist. Hopefully, it doesn’t affect him this season.

They had a terrific team last season but that did not stop them from going out and acquiring perhaps the most electrifying and explosive player the NBA has ever seen in Vince Carter. Carter may be getting up their in age but he has proven that he can still play at an All-Star level and is one of the more complete offensive players in the NBA.Rashard Lewis is fresh off of an impressive 2008-09 season in which he led the league in three-point field goals made and was an All-Star for the second season in his career. His dynamic shooting ability is a critical component to the Orlando Magic’s offense and the spacing that he provides is a major reason why they are such an effective team.Joining Lewis and Carter is some guy named Dwight Howard. I hear that he is pretty good. Howard is the reigning Defensive Player of the Year and the league’s best center. His defensive prowess and elite rebounding is a perfect compliment to the offensive abilities of Carter and Lewis.This trio looks to build on the success that the Magic had last season and I am not going to put it past them."
I think it’s funny that Orlando’s “Big 3” doesn’t even include their All-Star PG Jameer Nelson. Just goes to show you how much depth the Magic have.
Apparently, Dwight Howard is not a franchise player. At least not according to Vince Thomas. He calls him a “foundation player” and not a “franchise player.”
"Dwight Howard : Hopefully, during one of these seasons, the Magic will be able to start running their offense through Howard. When that happens, he will be about as Franchise as you can get."
Wow, that is ridiculous. I guess Thomas has never seen Dwight Howard or the Magic play. See the complete story here.
