The Orlando Magic are patiently waiting to begin diving deeper into their GM search. We ponder the end of the season and the Playoffs in our roundtable.

The first round of the NBA Playoffs is nearly over. The NBA world has kept going on even though the Orlando Magic’s world has seemingly stopped.

Not a lot has happened with Orlando the last two weeks. The team is quietly conducting the initial stages of its general manager search — that will be the priority for another few weeks. As team CEO Alex Martins said, the Magic would likely be contacting teams still in the Playoffs. So they may have to wait until they can get an interview.

That time is coming soon. So is the 2017 NBA Draft Combine — beginning May 9 in Chicago — and the next step for the Magic’s rebuild and the beginning of their summer. Orlando has a lot of work to do.

Before we get too far away from the end of the season and dive in deeper to the offseason and the upcoming Draft, it is time for our final reflections on the season.

Now that some time has passed and we have had the chance to dissect the season a bit, what lessons can we draw and learn from the year? What are our big takeaways from the year that we can take forward with us into the offseason?

We also begin pondering what we would be looking for in a new general manager as this issue prepares to take over the offseason. That will be something that quickly happens with the first round nearing its end.

In this week’s roundtable, we discuss some issues with the team this season and what our big takeaways are for the Magic’s season. We also dive into some early Playoff thoughts as the first round comes to a close.
