Victor Oladipo almost secured another win for the Magic but Lou Williams heroics were too much for the Magic.

In a close game full of big moments the Magic fell just short of defeating the Toronto Raptors.

Orlando’s valiant defensive effort held the Raptors to only 41 percent shooting, Victor Oladipo hit a go-ahead three with 16 seconds left but Demar DeRozan and Lou Williams proved to be just too much for the Magic in their 101-99 loss.

B+.
ALMOST. Victor Oladipo almost hit another game-winner for the Magic tonight after Wednesday’s heroics. Oladipo hit the go-ahead three with 16 seconds left but he was later foiled by Lou Williams.

Oladipo was really solid tonight offensively. While Victor could not cash in consistently with his jumper he had a nice bounce in his step.

As of late, Victor is showing a much greater mastery of his ball-handling which is leading to better looks at the rim. Previously, Oladipo was constantly moving 120 MPH at all times and this led to some pretty crazy looking attempts. Victor is now utilizing these in and out yo-yo bounces and breaking his man down off the dribble with his dribble rather than his speed.

As is the theme with Oladipo, his defense was spotty. On ball, Oladipo contested some Demar DeRozan shots well. But off the ball, he lost his man quite a few times. Including on the game-winning play.
. PG/SG. Orlando Magic. VICTOR OLADIPO

From the beginning of the first quarter, you could tell tonight was just not going to be <a href=. PF/C. Orlando Magic. NIKOLA VUCEVIC. C-

B.
Give this to the Raptors, they did not quit.

DeMar DeRozan absolutely torched the Magic, Lou Williams finished the job, and Tyler Hansborough is still pissing people off.

The Raptors are working to get their early-season groove back just in time for the playoffs and this game reminded me a lot of the first meeting between these teams this season. That is a positive sign for the Raptors heading into the playoffs.
. Team. TOR. TORONTO RAPTORS
