The Orlando Magic are coming off a hard-fought loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night, and they will remain in Los Angeles for the second game of a back-to-back on Tuesday.

The Magic find themselves as underdogs against the LA Clippers, who just pulled off a massive trade for James Harden on Tuesday morning.

The Philadelphia 76ers shipped James Harden to Los Angeles for a package of draft picks and wings KJ Martin, Nic Batum, Robert Covington, and Marcus Morris. The Clippers also received P.J. Tucker and Filip Petrusev in the deal.

None of the players in the deal will be in the lineup tonight, which is going to make things tough on the Clippers. The team might be a little shorthanded, but it still has stars Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George expected to play.

Can the Magic cover on the road? The team is 2-1 this season, but it needs more from Paolo Banchero to truly make a push to be considered as a playoff contender.

Magic vs. Clippers key players to watch

Orlando Magic

Paolo Banchero: We have yet to see the reigning NBA Rookie of the Year get going this season. Paolo Banchero has 12, 14 and nine points in his three games this season, averaging 11.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game. The Orlando Magic are 2-1, but the team needs Banchero to get going for the team to truly make a playoff push this season.

Los Angeles Clippers

Kawhi Leonard: The James Harden trade has shortened Los Angeles’ rotation for tonight’s game, which means we could see big minutes for Kawhi Leonard in this matchup (all a day before a matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers). The star forward is averaging 23.0 points per game this season.

Paul George: Paul George is averaging 27.3 points per game this season, and he could see a bigger workload with four wing players getting shipped out in the James Harden deal. He and Kawhi Leonard will need to carry the squad to a win tonight.

Magic vs. Clippers prediction and pick

I love the Orlando Magic to at least cover the spread in this game.

The Orlando Magic played well against the Los Angeles Lakers, and it covered as an underdog in that game. Now, the team is a 6.5-point dog against a similar team in the Clippers the following night?

That seems like a major overreaction, especially since the Clippers have a shortened rotation in this game.

The team is going to need contributions from players who may not play as often after moving four different pieces in the Harden deal, and that should allow Orlando to at least hang around in this game.

Orlando was 6-7 against the spread in the second game of back-to-backs last season, and the team is 3-0 against the spread this season.

Bet on the Magic to keep this game close against the Clips.
