Nikola Vucevic’s All-Star bid tied to Orlando Magic’s success
The West All-Stars
The only thing anyone can say is to be thankful the Orlando Magic are not in the Western Conference. Like the standings — where team No. 4 and No. 14 are separated by 5.5 games — everything is incredibly tight. And there are going to be some very deserving players left out of the All-Star Game from the Western Conference because of conference alignments.
There are going to be some otherwise deserving starters left out of the starting lineup because of how packed and tight this conference is.
It is not worth going too much into details on the Western Conference since it does not pertain to this article so much. But for fun, here are my selections for the Western Conference All-Star Team today.

Like I said, a lot of worthy candidates out West.
And many of those Western Conference All-Star candidates (looking specifically at Clint Capela and Marc Gasol) probably have cases to get in over Nikola Vucevic. Despite their teams being in the Playoff hunt, the picture is so crowded that they have less chance to make it than Vucevic does.
But that is the system they are under.
The bottom line for Nikola Vucevic again is his bid to make the All-Star Game is tied wholly to the team’s success. If the Magic are winning and in the Playoffs, Vucevic could represent the team in Charlotte. If they continue to struggle, Vucevic will get the weekend off in February.
Still plenty of time to get those votes in.
