"With the Orlando Magic’s two wins of the week coming against a Suns team that’s shut everyone and their mother down and the lowly 76ers, there’s little reason to focus on the actual on-court product here."

Indeed, right now it seems like the only wins the Orlando Magic are going to get are going to come against the dregs of the league. Good news, then, the magic still have two more meetings with the Brooklyn Nets. Or maybe that is bad news if you think the Magic should tank.

Wednesday’s loss to the Charlotte Hornets was really instructive of the problems with this team. They are simply not going to have enough most nights to close games out against respectable opponents. It took a pretty big comeback just to get the Philadelphia 76ers win at home. At least that was a search for energy after a West Coast trip.

The Magic are running out of opportunities to build some momentum for the offseason. They should look to beat teams like the Hornets and Friday’s opponent, the Detroit Pistons, before the season closes. They at least need to feel like they are even with those teams.
