Conclusions

The trade options for the Orlando Magic all have a common characteristic, offense. The Magic sorely need help putting points on the board. There is an option to go to at each position to fill in some offensive production that’s been missing.

The Magic still have plenty of assets and depth to make a decent package to trade for some offensive help. The Magic are expecting guard Jodie Meeks to make his debut soon and that could be the injection of offense they have been missing.

Players like Aaron Gordon, Mario Hezonja and Nikola Vucevic have had some early struggles adjusting to the new team makeup. If those guys can get it going, this might all be a moot point.

But how long can the Orlando Magic wait for things to gel?

The team’s record has them right in the hunt for the playoffs. But three of the team’s six wins entering Monday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks have come by narrow margins against teams missing an All-Star due to injury (John Wall, Anthony Davis, Dirk Nowitzki). Finishing the November schedule will give a better understanding of what the Magic will be this year — as will the road trip to start December.

Maybe they have to win games ugly. Maybe they will find their shooting touch soon. Perhaps a change in the roster needs to happen.

Next: Orlando Magic relying on veterans, but are they delivering?

Either way, the Magic need to get some consistency on the offensive end. And once that trade window opens in mid-December, they will have to explore all their options.
