John Schumann, NBA.com:

Atlanta Hawks. 1. team. 125. . . Previous: 1st

18. . . Previous: 26th. Boston Celtics. 26. team

. Previous: 27th. Orlando Magic. 27. team. 38. To confirm the Magic are in an offensive slump, they shot 40 percent and scored less than 90 points per 100 possessions against the Lakers’ defense on Friday. Four of the five guys who have taken at least 10 threes during their six-game losing streak have made less than 30 percent of them. Given their upcoming opponents, the slump will continue.

I guess the Magic played the gambler’s odds here, Mr. Schumann.

The Magic did look lifeless offensively for much of the West Coast road trip. No one could be blamed for being extremely bullish on the Magic’s chances offensively entering this difficult stretch of the schedule. But give credit where it is due. Orlando posted a crazy efficient offensive game against Chicago on Monday.

Maybe that is enough to be a slump buster.
