NBA2K17 ratings and avatars are getting released. Evan Fournier received his rating and his likeness and . . . well, it does not quite look like him.

In less than a month the NBA season will become more real not just for fans, but also for the players with the much-anticipated release of NBA2K17.

The video game is a favorite not only of regular fans, but also of players and they take their ratings and likenesses pretty seriously. So as the features and images for 2K17 come out, players are waiting on baited breath too.

2K Sports’ Ronnie2K is sending screen grabs with player ratings for the players to share, giving fans a sneak peek at what their favorite players might look like and play like in 2K.

When it came to Evan Fournier though . . . things did not turn out so well.

The 78 rating would be enough to get a little upset. Fournier finished last season as a 78, up six from the beginning of the season. He certainly improved with his play. Facing a season where Fournier will be one of the key offensive players for the Orlando Magic.

This will be another season where Fournier has to show improvement like he did last year. He will have the role to do it.

The reaction though to his likeness was what drove everyone crazy. Even Fournier.

Apparently a new one is on its way Monday, according to Ronnie2K. So there will be a patch and Fournier will not look like an Internet meme. It is maybe too late for that.

Such is the life of being in 2K.

Other Magic players have received their 2K ratings. It certainly looks like Magic fans may have to wait to see how the season goes and how players improve in future updates before feeling confident playing as their favorite team.

Aaron Gordon received a 76 rating, down one from the end of last season.

Surprisingly, Jodie Meeks came in at a 74. That is where he was last year. That will be a good sign for the Magic once he is healthy.

Stephen Zimmerman also got his debut rating. The second round pick will start his career with a 67 overall rating.

The Magic will be a challenging team to play as in 2K17. There may be no getting around that without a more established star.

Several of the players on Twitter have not gotten or released their 2K ratings quite yet. Not that they would care, perhaps.

Next: Orlando Magic will have to prove the doubters wrong

The game itself releases Sept. 20 with a pre-order release on Sept. 16. A mini version of the game will be released online for XBOX Live and PS4 on Sept. 9. The NBA season has become very real.
