The Orlando Magic needed a pick-me-up in the third quarter and got it by holding each other accountable. They also got some fantastic performances.

The Orlando Magic attacked the Chicago Bulls from the very start of the game. They took the early 14-point lead and an 18-point lead at halftime. The Bulls were not providing much of a fight. But even they had a run early in the third quarter.

As they cut the lead to nine points, the Magic needed a response. That has not always been their best moment. That has usually been the moment where they crumble and lose their lead.

Not this night. The Magic played their best basketball after that moment and brought the lead back out to 18 and eventually to 29 points in routing the Bulls 111-89 at Amway Center on Saturday.

This was as easy a victory as the Magic could have. They have come few and far between. And while the Bulls are not playing anywhere near their best and seemed to easily fold, the Magic also had to take it to them.

Unlike Friday night’s loss to the Miami Heat, the Magic were able to make the play to stop the runs and push the lead back out. With all the injuries the Magic have, it took everyone to get there.
