The Orlando Magic improved to 19-13 with a win over the Brooklyn Nets, but it was a victory with plenty of stains and mediocre play in it.

The Orlando Magic now have started to get some of the wins that maybe they should not.

Tonight was one of those games, as Orlando shot just 43 percent from the floor while turning it over four times more than the Brooklyn Nets. Yet, Orlando walked away with a ‘W’ and is now seeded No. 4 in the Eastern Conference, early though it is.

It is hard to beam over the performances of Magic players from tonight, and even the handful of players graded here really just outperformed their weak competition.

The Magic were not at their best against the Nets, but sometimes second-rate ball is enough to knock off a team like the Nets who still have yet to capture their 10th victory of the season.

D.
The Brooklyn Nets really had no business losing this game. The Nets led by seven at the half and were playing a cool headed and effective brand of basketball, turning the ball over just once in 24 minutes.

The Nets just did not close out on shots, and the Magic penalized them on the offensive glass. With the Magic shooters mostly being off, this is a game the Nets easily could have run away with had they done the small things like rebounding the ball and taking care of it in the second half.

The Magic closed the game on a 10-0 run to take this one from the Nets, and it has to hurt the Nets to know that had they executed better down the stretch. The offensive foul from Brook Lopez while down three basically killed their chances and came compliments of Lopez grabbing a shirt tail. It was a fitting end to a game Brooklyn did in fact let slip through their fingers.
. 9-23. 14th East. BROOKLYN NETS
