The Orlando Magic again had a stellar performance on both sides of the ball, turning in another fairly complete effort to defeat the Boston Celtics.

18. Final. 110. 38. 91

Orlando Magic fans have long had a bit of a grudge with the Boston Celtics. Here is a team that went through a complete rebuild like the Magic, had collected assets and, improbably, made the Playoffs last year. Magic fans wanted that.

A year later, Orlando is starting to look like a team that can turn the corner. Confidence is building, the defense is starting to dictate tempo and create offense. The team is coming together.

The Magic won their third straight game with a 110-91 win over the Celtics at Amway Center on Sunday. Orlando pulled above .500 for the first time since November 2012 and accomplished a whole bunch of other firsts that date back to Dwight Howard‘s final year in Orlando.

No one is ready to declare the Magic officially “back” or start planning those Playoff t-shirts yet. Orlando though is playing some of its best basketball of the season with everyone on the team contributing and filling their role.

The defense too is dominant, holding the Celtics this night to 40.9 percent shooting and just 5 for 27 from beyond the arc. There was some reason to celebrate, but plenty more to build on and stay hungry for.
