The Orlando Magic are in the market for a backup point guard and while the crop is thin, there are five very good options for this role.

One of the Orlando Magic’s most glaring holes is at the backup point guard spot. Elfrid Payton needs a steady veteran to back him up and add some composure and stability in the second unit.

Luke Ridnour hardly was the backup Orlando needed last year, but there are options on the market capable of filling the void (if it can even be called that) left when Ridnour was dealt to the Memphis Grizzlies.

While the Magic are a young team, the need for veteran leadership was apparent throughout the course of last season. Accordingly, looking at some more experienced guard to back up Payton only makes sense.

There is enough young talent on the team to warrant adding the stability and leadership of a vet, even if he has maxed out his potential, or is even on the decline.
