More champagne! Evan Fournier showed some flashes of dominance early but could not stay healthy enough to keep up his stellar early season play.

Evan Fournier had some pretty high expectations placed on him from the start of his tenure in Orlando as the main return in the Arron Afflalo trade.

With Victor Oladipo out due to a fractured orbital bone, Evan Fournier got his chance to shine early and shine he did. He averaged 15 points, two assists and two rebounds in December leading some to declare Orlando victorious in its trade with Denver.

Sadly, Fournier’s time as a very good player ended as Victor Oladipo came back. Relegated to the bench, Fournier was not nearly as effective as defenses could key in on him.

To top it off, Fournier suffered a multitude of injuries throughout the season forcing him to miss 24 games, including a sore hip which caused him to miss 19 of the team’s final 21 games.

Even through injury and role change, Fournier certainly proved he was a useful player. He still finished the year shooting nearly 38 percent from deep and was a very smart team defender.

What can the Magic expect from Fournier moving forward?
