The Orlando Magic are more or less playing out the string of the rest of the regular season. Young players will provide hope and questions for the future.

The Orlando Magic have settled in to their position this season. It has been this way for a long while.

While the Playoffs have been nothing but a pipe dream for some time, the Magic are next in line in the East to get eliminated from the Playoffs and it will come quickly. The “Magic Number” to eliminate the Magic from the Playoffs is seven.

That pipe dream might stay alive for another week or so. But it is an extreme long shot. No one can seriously talk about the Playoffs anymore.

And so the Magic are going to listlessly end the season? Not quite. Orlando wants the team to continue improving and that means getting the team in a winning mindset. They have committed to playing better defense and establishing that as an identity. That will help the team grow into next season.

Yes, we have reached the build momentum for next season part of the season.

And we have reached the point where the Magic just have to get their three more wins and say they are better than last year’s team. . . at least by record.

This disappointing season is coming to a close and there will be a lot of work to do. But the Magic for the rest of the year just have to do the best with what they have got.
