The Magic would likely target these two players with the No. 12 pick, but nobody appears to have either player going that high (maybe Payton who has wowed scouts in individual workouts so far). Both Napier, who led Connecticut to a national championship, and Payton are slated to be late first rounders.
Napier averaged 17.9 points and 4.9 assists per game on 42.9 percent field goal shooting and 51.7 percent effective field goal percentage. Napier is a skilled 3-point shooter and scorer.
Payton averaged 19.1 points and 6.0 assists per game for Louisiana-Lafayette last year as a senior, posting a 51.1 percent field goal percentage and a 52.4 percent effective field goal percentage. Payton is more of a truer point guard as a ball handler and distributor.
