#Magic PG Jameer Nelson's agent Steve Mountain told me today, "Jameer has made it clear he wants to stay in Orlando." Thoughts? 407-774-0810

Jameer Nelson, according to Sham Sports, is guaranteed only $2 million. The rest of his $8 million contract becomes guaranteed on July 15, 2014. Thus his future is very much a question mark.
Nelson averaged 12.1 points per game and 7.0 assists per game. However, he shot 39.4 percent from the floor — shooting worse than 40 percent from the floor for the second straight year and the second time in his career. Nelson had to take on a bigger offensive role than he could probably chew since Dwight Howard left and his age and slowing talents certainly did not help.
He was valued more for his presence in the locker room at that point.
So while Nelson has a lot of cachet as a veteran presence and a fan favorite, his playing time on the team is getting squeezed out. Victor Oladipo began taking over point guard duties and the Magic are expected to take a point guard with one of their first round picks.
Nelson might want to stay in Orlando, there is another question about whether the team will want him back. The decision ultimately rests with Rob Hennigan and his staff.
