–Both JJ Redick and Deron Williams will miss tonight’s game, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports. Coach Stan Van Gundy reiterated that Redick’s injury is not a sports hernia and will not require surgery. He should be available by the time the postseason starts. Nets guard Sundiata Gaines will also miss tonight’s game, Colin Stephenson of The (Newark) Star-Ledger writes.

–It seems pretty set in stone that Derrick Rose will be the league’s MVP this year, despite Orlando and stat heads’ complaining. [Eds. Note: I will have my thoughts on this whole MVP race tomorrow.]

–The Magic would still very much like to sign Fran Vazquez, and this summer is the summer to do it. But the looming collective bargaining deal and the team’s status over the salary cap remain big hurdles to accomplishing that goal, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel writes.

–The Magic are indeed planning on growing playoff beards. Dwight is even encouraging the fans to join the craze. #FearTheBeard.

Dwight Howard has raced ahead of everyone and is now the league’s dunk leader by a healthy margin.
