–The Magic were pretty happy not to be the team that the Cavaliers ended their franchise-record losing streak to. Dwight Howard made sure of that with 20 points and 20 rebounds in 24 minutes of play. His presence, as Evan Dunlap of Orlando Pinstriped Post points out, was critical to offset a poor shooting night.

–There might be a bit of buyer’s remorse with Gilbert Arenas. Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel is beginning to wonder when Arenas will become a factor for the Magic.

Ryan Anderson is becoming a bigger and bigger threat off the bench for Orlando. Zach McCann of the Orlando Sentinel writes, other teams better start taking notice.

–For the Magic to win, Hedo Turkoglu has to play well, Evan Dunlap of Orlando Pinstriped Post writes. Apparently, as Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel reports, Turkoglu is nursing a sore back.

The Magic came in fifth in Kurt Helin of Pro Basketball Talk’s Power Rankings this week.

Stan Van Gundy went to bat for his center once again when it comes to calling fouls.

Jameer Nelson bounced back from a knee injury to start Sunday night, but Gilbert Arenas sat out after injuring his knee in Friday’s loss.

–Ronald Tillery of The (Memphis) Commercial-Appeal reports the Grizzlies have interest in signing Jason Williams. No one is sure if the feeling is mutual. Williams apparently told the Grizzlies to let him clear waivers and find a team closer to playoff contention. Chip Crain of 3 Shades of Blue is trying to figure out why the Grizzlies are considering this move.

Jason Richardson had 12 points in the victory and Ryan Anderson had a career-high 23 points and career-high 16 rebounds. They spoke with Andrew Melnick of Howard the Dunk.

–Chip Crain of 3 Shades of Blue breaks down the matchups in tonight’s game.

–Safe to say, Stan Van Gundy would not handle losing 20 games in a row very well. Cavs coach Byron Scott has been through worse though.
