–The Magic thought things could not get much worse after the loss to Utah on Wednesday. They did against the Raptors on Friday. The Magic shot themselves in the foot continuously in that defeat. The Magic’s lazy play and horrid defense ultimately spelled defeat.

Dwight Howard’s technical fouls are the least of Orlando’s concerns, writes Brian Schmitz of The Orlando Sentinel.

–Avery Johnson wants Brook Lopez to be more decisive playing against Dwight Howard, writes Colin Stephenson of the Newark Star-Ledger. Last week against the Magic, it almost appeared that Lopez was afraid of what Howard could do around the rim both offensively and defensively.

–Colin Stephenson of the Newark Star-Ledger reports Troy Murphy is likely to play tonight after being bothered by foot soreness over the past four or five days. Terrence Williams though appears to be out.

–NBA Scouting Director Ryan Blake is riding his motorcycle across America to college games in the next two weeks to raise awareness for the American Cancer Society, ending at the Coaches vs. Cancer basketball tournament at Maidson Square Garden.

Dwight Howard seems pretty exasperated by the new technical foul rule. He has picked up five through eight games so far and certainly will be staring down the 16 technical foul limit that would result in a one-game suspension.
