Magic Officially Unveil Black Alternate Uniforms

Photos of it leaked on the Internet a few months ago and rumors swirled about when the Magic would return to its color for years.

Now, it is official. The Magic are back in black. And not throwback black. The new-look black.

The Magic announced Friday (Black Friday) they will have a black alternate road jersey. It will make its debut Tuesday, Dec. 14 in Denver and will be worn at home twice — on Dec. 23 against San Antonio and on Feb. 3 against Miami.

The adidas rev30 jersey will be available exclusively at the Orlando Magic Team Shop (aka the new Magic Fan Attic) beginning at 5:30 p.m. today. Those who buy it will also receive an adidas Magic t-shirt. No word yet if or when replica or swingman versions of the jersey will be available.

In all, Orlando will wear the jersey 16 times this season including games in Miami on March 3, Los Angeles (Lakers) on March 14, Boston on Jan. 17 and Phoenix on March 13. In fact, the Magic will pretty much wear the black uniforms the entire West Coast trip in March.
