Tyronn Lue does not disappoint

The Orlando Magic’s newest member – point guard Tyronn Lue – scored two points in just more than two minutes of playing time last night in Orlando’s 101-84 win over the Nets. If you’re counting at home, he’s now averaging 47 points per 48 minutes as a member of the Magic, making him the league’s most efficient scorer. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for the 31-year-old and his new team. Hedo Turkoglu had eight assists, giving him 19 over the last two games. Who needs a point guard? Oh, right, the Magic do. Turk also had four turnovers and 14 missed shots over that span. I’ve never seen a player with the ability to look so good and look so bad on simultaneous possessions. Turkoglu is single-handedly responsible for raising all Magic fans’ blood pressure at least a decibel. Dwight Howard scored 30 points and grabbed 16 rebounds – a perfect night for him. It’s not good when Howard scores much more than that. In fact, the Magic are 0-2 this season when Howard scores at least 35 points. The month of February should be kind to the Magic – besides a trip to New Orleans, the Magic travel to Charlotte, Chicago, New York and Philadelphia. And the Magic host Denver, Charlotte, Miami and Detroit. They don’t have to face any Western Conference powers or the league’s elite. It should be a nice adjustment period to the team’s new formula without Jameer Nelson. If they go 5-4 this month, that will be solid.
