A bad night for Jameer Nelson, Magic

The good news is that everyone with a ticket stub gets two free milkshakes and a chicken sandwich from Chick-Fil-A, because two Mavericks fouled (fowled) out and the Magic made more than 20 foul (fowl) shots. That’s about all of the good news to come out of Monday night. Jameer Nelson left the game with a dislocated shoulder – which could be serious – and the Magic got spanked by the Mavericks 105-95. It was announced earlier in the day that Nelson, who will have an MRI on Tuesday, was going to play in the Skills Challenge on all-star weekend. And he was going to playing in his first all-star game on the next day. Not anymore. It looks like Nelson will be out at at least a few weeks (best case), meaning Anthony Johnson will step into the starting role and Courtney Lee will likely back him up at the point. On Monday against the Mavericks, the team pretty much mailed it in. The Mavs outscored the Magic 23-16 in the decisive third quarter, and the Magic made just 3 of 20 shots from 3-point range in the game. More tomorrow.
